Biography

Nawfal El Mkadmi is a seasoned engineer with over 15 years of experience in Canada and internationally in the fields of mining geomechanics, geotechnical design and numerical modeling. 

 

Specializing in modeling stresses and deformations of rock masses, in slope stability and underground excavations, and in embankments and geotechnical structures, he has led and trained multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects for major mining groups such as Newmont and SNC-Lavalin.

 

A recognized expert in digital modelling, he has trained more than 300 professionals in the use of specialized software such as Map3D, Rocscience, FLAC3D, Geostudio and IMAT.

 

Nawfal graduated from the École des Mines de Douai (France) in civil engineering and from Polytechnique Montréal in mining engineering (geomechanics). He is a member of the professional orders of engineers in Quebec and Ontario.
